Having difficulty sleeping? Found the airwaves are a little too congested with the kind of crap that passes for news and/or entertainment nowadays? Listen to commercial radio or Heart FM and are losing the will to live? Search your DAB dial for Birdsong, crack open a bottle of favourite tipple and shut your eyes.

I've got bird song in my back garden. Noisy buggers. Can hardly hear the strimmer.
One of them sings the first 4 notes of the "Indiana Jones" theme tune at 5 each morning. I have no idea what kind of bird it is (apart from anti-social).
Ha! Living in remote Norfolk, my DAB radio picks up one channel (North Norfolk Radio). My digibox for the tv doesn't pick up anything. What folks here will do when the analogue signal is turned of I do not know.
I hope my next move may bring me slightly closer to what we laughingly call civilisation.
Got it! Thanks for the tip of the week, Richard!
From research, I gather the loop they use, which is around an hour long, is about 13 years old. The sounds will be unfamiliar to most, even country dwellers, since most birds are now dead or have been eaten by Jeremy Clarkson.
Vicus, that will probably be some kind of starling. Give them a bit of time and they will have the strimmer cracked enabling you to give the impression of annoying the neighbours while actually watching the test matches.
Obviously I have some tit of a neighbour listening to this at full volume every morning at about 4 am. Bastard.
Strangely enough, I didn't enjoy it. It's enough to have the birds do their bit outside my bedroom window at stupid o'clock in the morning without having it going all through the night, too.
